Sometimes you have a dream: a house that perfectly suits your family. Leticia from Moa styling used to live in a very old house from 1890. That house was inspiring, but also a bit small and busy. Together with her family, she sought more peace and space. They found that place in a new-build house in Lent.

From a house from 1890 to a new-build home

A new-build house is often a 'blank canvas' at first. This means that there is nothing yet: just bare walls and concrete on the floor. But it also offers many advantages. You can decide everything yourself. From the location of the power sockets to the color on the walls. Fun, but certainly also a challenge.

Styling a new-build home

The layout of the house took some getting used to at first. The kitchen was downstairs, but the living room was on the first floor. Instead of changing this, Leticia looked at how she could make good use of it.

She created a plan and could therefore see in advance whether the colors and materials matched. She didn't opt for standard white, but for warm tones and soft fabrics. This, of course, also includes lovely xl decorative pillows! On her mega sofa, you can see the xl pillow in the color Butter Beige and the 40x60 cm pillow Chocolate Chic.

The kitchen as the heart of the home

In this house, the kitchen plays a major role. Leticia's partner works as a chef. The kitchen, therefore, isn't just for cooking.

This place brings the whole family together. They often gather cozy around the kitchen island and discuss the day there. Opposite the kitchen island is a soft sofa with the pillows Olive Oasis with fringes and the pillow with wave pattern Magical Mauve X Pretty in Pink.

Hands-on approach

The extensive DIY work truly makes this house special. Leticia and her partner painted, wallpapered, and even landscaped the garden themselves. In every room, you feel the love for the house. It doesn't feel like a 'showroom', but like a real home where the family can live happily.

In short: with good planning and bold choices, a bare new-build house has been transformed into a personal and warm place.

Do you want to create unity in your home? Then choose door handles with rosettes in the same (bronze) color.
